First mountain bike race in 5 or 6 years (I’m not counting the 12 hour as both my teammates sucked). The race is in Neosho and for whatever reason the trail was in tip top shape, which was awesome as we haven’t been able to ride our local trails for several months. Stunning forest, at least a million dogwoods in full bloom, which really just pisses me off as I have planted about 20 and they have all died.
Pete Maxwell was in attendance with several of his very nice (obviously not road racers) KC bike dudes, Maxwell and I go back a long, long, time, back so far I don’t remember much of it, maybe just one of our friends, I think his name was Arvon. Anyway I took the Jones and the Nick with me for an hour and half of pure agony. This being my fourth mountain bike race in 10 years I had forgotten how much suffering is involved, obviously this is the reason I have only done this on four previous occasions. I must add that Pete Bermudez was racing the endurance class and is a true badass, I have no idea how long Pete has been riding and racing but he is truly one of the good guys.

Very close to the 500 year flood plain, lots of help to bag sand, I cant possibly say thanks enough to Jim Mike Nathan Ross and Toby. Luckily this was as close as it got. Hope Shane is ok.
